Celebration of the Lord’s Supper
Thanksgiving
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them up to the
Lord.
Let us give thanks to the
Lord our God.
It is right for us to
give thanks and praise.
With joy we praise you,
gracious God,
for you have created heaven
and earth,
made us in your image, and
kept covenant with us—
even when we fell
into sin.
We give you thanks for
Jesus Christ, our Lord,
who by his life, death, and
resurrection
opened to us the way of
everlasting life.
Therefore we join our
voices
with all the saints and
angels and the whole creation
to proclaim the glory of
your name.

Sing: “That Night, at Table” SNT# 156
1. That night, at table with his
friends,
our
Lord took bread, and blest, and broke:
what
love through all his actions ran!
What wondrous words of love he
spoke!
2. “This is my body, given for you;
Receive, and eat the living
food.”
He took the cup and blest the
wine:
“This the new covenant in my
blood.”
3. “Do this,” he said, “till time
shall end,
in
memory of your dying friend;
meet at
my table, and record
the
presence of your loving Lord.”
4. Jesus, your feast we celebrate:
we show
your death, we sing our name
till
you return, that we may eat
the
marriage supper of the Lamb.
* Prayer of Consecration
We thank you, O God,
that you remembered your
promise
to reconcile the world to
yourself,
that you have come among us
in Jesus Christ,
the eternal Word made flesh.
Standing in our place,
he suffered during his
years on earth,
especially in the tortures of the
cross.
We thank you that he
carried your judgment on our sin;
that his sacrifice removes
our guilt;
and that he walked out of the
grave,
conqueror of sin and death—Lord of
life!
Lord Jesus, as both
divine and human,
be our only Mediator.
You alone paid the debt
of our sin;
there is no other Savior!
The Father chose us to
become like you in every way.
Now may your electing
love sustain our hope:
your grace is free to save us
sinners,
who offer nothing but our
need for mercy.
Stay with us in the
Spirit
to renew our hearts,
move us to faith,
lead us into the truth,
help us to pray,
stand by us in our need,
and make our obedience fresh
and vibrant.
Amen.

“Embrace
the Cross”
I am crucified with
Christ; therefore,
I no longer live. Jesus Christ now lives in me.
I am crucified with
Christ; therefore, I no longer live.
Jesus Christ now lives in
me.
I am crucified with
Christ; therefore, I no longer live.
Jesus Christ now lives in
me.
I am crucified with
Christ; therefore, I no longer live.
Jesus Christ now lives in
me.
Embrace the cross where
Jesus suffered,
tho’ it will cost all you claim as yours.
Your sacrifice will seem
small beside the treasure;
eternity can’t measure what Jesus
holds in store.
Embrace the love the
cross requires;
cling to the One whose heart
knew ev’ry pain.
Receive from Jesus
fountains of compassion;
only He can fashion your
heart to move as His.
O wondrous cross, our
desires rest in you.
O Lord Jesus, make us
bolder
to face with courage the
shame and disgrace
You bore upon Your shoulder.
Embrace the life that
comes from dying;
come trace the steps the
Savior walked for you.
An empty tomb concludes
endure, then, till tomorrow
your cross of suffering.
Embrace the cross. Embrace the cross,
the wondrous cross, the
cross of Jesus.
“Think
About His Love”
Think about His love, think about His goodness,
Think
about His grace that’s brought us through.
For
as high as the heavens above
so great is the measure of our Father’s love.
Great
is the measure of our Father’s love.
How
could I forget His love?
How
could I forget his mercy?
He
satisfies, He satisfies, He satisfies my desires.
Think
about His love, think about His goodness,
Think
about His grace that’s brought us through.
Even
when I’ve strayed away
His
love has sought me out and found me.
He
satisfies, He satisfies, He satisfies my desires.
Think
about His love, think about His goodness,
Think
about His grace that’s brought us through.
For
as high as the heavens above
so great is the measure of our Father’s love.
Great
is the measure of our Father’s love.

“There Is a Redeemer” W&R 117
1. There is a Redeemer- Jesus, God’s
own Son;
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah,
Holy One.
Chorus:
Thank You, O my Father, for
giving us your Son,
and
leaving your Spirit till the work on earth is done.
2. Jesus, my Redeemer, name above
all names;
Precious Lamb of God, Messiah,
hope for sinners slain. (Chorus)
3. When I stand in Glory, I will see
His face;
there
I’ll serve my King forever, in that holy place. (Chorus)
“God’s Paschal Lamb” SNT# 151
1. God’s Paschal Lamb is sacrificed
for us.
Therefore with joy we keep the
Easter feast;
forsaking
sin, we share the bread of truth.
Alleluia, Alleluia!
2. Now Christ is raised and will not
die again;
death has no more dominion
over him.
Through him we die to sin
and live to God.
Alleluia, Alleluia!
3. In Christ we see the first-fruits
of the dead:
though
Adam’s sin had doomed all flesh to die,
in
Christ’s new life shall all be made alive.
Alleluia, Alleluia!

The Lord’s Supper: This morning, we will commemorate Jesus’ death and
resurrection as we celebrate the Lord’s Supper.
By faith, Jesus’ death fully covers all our sin and by His resurrection
power He gives us everlasting life. May
Christ’s Spirit strengthen us in faith, hope, and love as we draw near to
Christ Jesus through His Spirit. After joining us in worship, join us in the
fellowship hall next to the sanctuary for a cup of coffee or juice and
continued fellowship.

ORGANIZATIONS WE SUPPORT
The Gift of Rhythm: A key component in both music and
dance is rhythm. What about in life? We work, see family, sleep,
eat...sometimes it feels like it's just continually repeating. It all needs to
get done, so we just keep on going. But is this rhythm of life in time with
God's rhythm? Or are we missing something really important? Find out on the Aug. 17 Back to God Hour. Go
to www.BacktoGod.net for local stations and times.
Liz and Jonah: Does God really expect us to love
our enemies? Why? Help Liz figure it all out on this week's Kids Corner. Kids
Corner is a member of the HisKids.net alliance--working together to provide
quality entertainment for kids that is Christ-centered and Bible-based. Visit

The Calvinist Cadet Corps is asking
you to pray that all those attending the international camporee
will have a fun experience and will grow in Christ as a result of this great
week of wilderness camping. Camporee began on August 6 and ends August 13. Today, family and friends are joining the
campers for a special morning worship service.
Visitors can then have dinner with their loved ones and visit the
campsites to see what an international camporee is
like. Please pray for safe travel for
visitors today and the campers when they leave on Wednesday.
